HEY! This week went well!
Junior was confirmed on Sunday. and He's so happy. He told one of the members of the ward that he was really happy to be here. We did have a lesson with him this last week and you could tell he was changing for the better. I love to see the change the gospel brings to people.
Dolores was baptized on Sunday. it was so great! everyone in her family (parents, brothers and sisters, neices, nephews, daughters, husband) are already members and all were there to support her in her important decision. We had zone conference this week and we talked about ideas for the in between when they are changing, sometimes the people there can get a little impatient waiting, so we bounced around ideas and one was to have people write their thoguhts/feelings for dolores on a notecard and then give it to her after they are confirmed, which we did and there were so many people there writing down their thoughts and impressions from the day, we're so excited to give it to her on Sunday so that if she ever has a rough or difficult time she can remember her baptism and remember all the people that were there to support her. It was also great for non members that all of us missionaries are working with- the penate family. we LOVE them! and Hermano, after the baptism told an Elder that he wanted all of us at his baptism, which is so much progress!
Speaking of the Penate family- Evelyn's husband has been in Guatamala and after we heard about the earthquake Evelyn called us 3 times and never returned our calls- we thought something might have gone wrong, and we went to go see her. We caught her as she was leaving and asked if everything was ok as she called us so many times, and everything was ok- she just wanted to say hi. But we had a lesson with her and her cute kids on Sunday night. They have loved being able to come to church these last 2 weeks, but as their dad comes home they wont be able to come back for a while. But we LOVE them! and were so grateful for the short time we were able to spend with them.
We have to get back to finding this week. we had to drop Gustavo. as much as he wants to change, he's unfortunately just not ready right now, but in the future most defintiely.
We are still teaching David, but he understands more english than spanish, so we are going to give him over to the english elders, which leaves us with Jose and Alicia who LOVE learning, but we have to figure out how to get them to church. i think i've said it before but i find it interesting how the simplest things like coming to church really are the hardest for some people. but they're coming.
We've started over in the book of mormon with Hermana Spicer- she is doing so well! reading so much. This accident really was a blessing in disguise. she has time for the important things and she's now always with her family and has the time to read and learn from the scriptures.
Zone conference was so great! it was all about finding effectively and making it normal and natural and not getting into the routine of being robotic missionaries- Hi I'm Sister- from the church of jesus christ of latter day saints, we have a message about... could we come back and share more with you? We have to be better at talking WITH people and not at them, which has seemed to help us, because that very night we were walking down the street and some lady asked us if we were cold. We told her how actually we were from Utah, Colorado, and Canada and it's a lot colder there. then we started up a conversation that was normal and natural. it was so great!
Yesterday all the sisters of the mission got together again and went hiking. it was such a beautiful day! and so fun to get to know all the sisters better and see some that i felt like i haven't seen in forever.

funnies of the week- first of all.. pollo (sounds like poyo) = chicken. apoyo=support. Hermana Ramsay was writing a thank you card this week and we told her to write "gracias por su apoyo"- thanks for your support. right after she had thanked them for dinner. She got super confused as to why we were thanking them for the chicken. We then had to teach that apoyo and pollo are 2 completely different things
