Monday Again! CRAZY!!!! This week has been so good, but SO tiring! Hermana Judd and I finish planning and go right to bed. we try to turn off the light around 10. (I told her i feel like my mom.)
This week was good Saturday was 85. don't be too jealous! I LOVE this weather!
Transfers happened last week. There's a new 12 week program that started the transfer before i came for new missionaries. So i'm with Hermana Judd for another 5 weeks. ( I need it, so i'm grateful) We lost 2 of our Elders- one of which has been in the area for 8 months and the other elder, Elder Jacobs went to Pomona who had only been here 3 transfers. The other 2 elders we gained are great!
So Tuesday we had YM/YW- we did a church tour and encouraged them to bring their non member friends. there were 2 non member friends there (more than we thought they would bring, but it was so great!) We hope that lit a fire in them to want to learn more.
we knocked a little bit this week and found some sweet potentials. we lent them out books of mormon and are going to go back in a week and talk about them, so we'll see what happens. we knocked into some people who speak spanish like 2 doors in a row. It was happiness!
We also started teaching Maria, her teaching record says she was taught a little bit a year ago, but her husband didn't like the missionaries so they stopped coming over. I asked her about her past missionaries and she said she had them a long time ago and that she had to stop listening because she moved. But she's really cool! she's a drug/substance abuse counselor.
Thanksgiving was SO GREAT! many people were home including Estefany's mom. we were able to talk with her and she said when Estefany feels ready she can be baptized!
We also visited Oscar- a potential, his wife was home and let us in. we talked to her for a bit while waiting for Oscar to get home and then we taught them a little lesson. they said they would try to come to church on sunday(she works on sunday, but she said she would try to leave early) unfortunately they didn't come, but esta bien! we'll go visit them again and hopefully start teaching them.
We had thanksgiving dinner with The Beltatone's- a sweet family in our ward. She's like our mission mom always feeding us when we come over. It was quite delicious, there also may or may not have been a football game on TV, and the only table available was the one in the room with the TV. I may or may not have watched a tiny bit when Hermana Judd wasn't looking.
We didn't teach Felix this week because he was out of town and it was his Birthday- he turned 71. We went to visit yesterday and we've started to become friends with his wife, Guillermina (most call her mina) She's catholic and he says she doesn't like it when we come over, but we talk more with her than we do with him. so maybe we can start teaching her to. that would be FABULOUS!
AND! Rigo and David were baptized yesterday!!!! It was SO GREAT!! There were many people from their ward to support them and the spirit was strong. we are so proud and excited about the decision they made and i know Their Heavenly Father is SO proud of the decision they made. They are definitely taking steps in the right direction.
I think this was my week. Hope you all had a wonderous thanksgiving and are all doing well.
