Hola Familia y amigos!
I feel like I was just here doing this, time flies when you're working hard!
So we have this less active we're teaching from the English ward- Rosa and her 2 sons Rigo (13) and David (9). WHO JUST SET A BAPTISMAL DATE FOR THIS SUNDAY!!!! AHHH!!!!! EXCITING!!! At the end of our lesson on wednesday i asked them if they would be baptized and they both got really excited and were like when when? we were thinking the 4th of december, but they're ready so next sunday!
remember how i said i had a food analogy? well... no worries. i didnt forget! I used it with them. So we were talking about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and using the folleto (the pamphlet) and we asked them to do the back page- look up scriptures and answer the questions in the back and i promised them i would make them a delicious treat! I wanted to make cake pops and i was really excited to make it for them, because lets be honest, they are deliciously divine. So i made some hoping that i could give them my delicious treat if they had done their homework and read their scriptures and went to church. So when we went back i asked if they had done their hw. Rosa and Rigo had, but David didn't. So i gave Rosa and Rigo a few cake pops, but only gave David one- he didn't do all his hw but he did go to church.I was super sad i couldn't share all with him, but I told him that he could still do it and still get the reward. i would save it for him.
and how does this relate to the gospel? Well... God has SO many blessings he wants to give to us he's excited to give them to us. We need to do our hw- read the scriptures, GO TO CHURCH, pray and do all those things, so that he can give us all those rewards plus more! He's sad when we don't do those things, but there's repentance! The gospel is SO GREAT!
So other news. Felix almost dropped us this week. He still cant remember and he felt we were wasting our time teaching him, but! we wouldn't let that happen. We are most definitely not wasting our time with him. We had Book of Mormon CD's we gave him so that he could listen and hopefully remember those things, when we're not there. and He's listened to one CD already! AND! Felix is doing missionary work! he introduced us to his neighbor- who we have been trying to get in contact with for a long time to set up an appointment with and now we have one! So we'll see how things go with Linda and her family. We are so excited to teach her!
Have i mentioned the Familia Rios ever? They are a cute less Active family.
Lizeth is 12 and loves to read the BOM with us. One miracle this week. we were planning on visit them later in the evening, but we felt it would be best to go earlier- when we got there they had just gotten home 10 minutes earlier from visiting their family in Mexico and Lizeth was having a difficult time with her family and telling them she was NEVER EVER going to go to church again, because of some of the people that were there. We went on a little walk and talked about the importance of church and a little bit of the life of Christ and she realized the importance and commited to come to church on sunday which she did!
And one son Mauro wants to get baptized! If he keeps coming to church he can be soon!
Still trying to find new people to teach everyday, but now we're going to eat at members houses everyday so hopefully we can get more referrals.
