1st Letter from California October 17,2011

Hola Cali!‏

Hola! I'M in CALIFORNIA!!!! AHHH!!!! yeah its pretty exciting! and warm. (LOVE IT) The plane ride was great. There might have been 10 real people on the plane.. half of us were going to Arcadia and the other half going to San Bernadino?? I dont remember. yeah..

Anyways... President and Sister Becerra are so great! I like them a lot and he has a scripture for everything. Oh hey! my comp is hermana Judd. She's from Virginia and she's been here a really long time. a whole 12 weeks! so... we're both new together, but she's great. super patient with me.  Oh hey! I'm in West Covina (although my area is called east covina... go figure) and there are 2 other set of missionaries in the ward. Yep. crazy!

Anyways. we've been doing a lot. we go see a lot of people and i never remember their names. yep this is a problem. i will work on this. We've taught a lot of less actives. It's really sad there are so many amazing members of the ward who are less active because they have to have 2 jobs just to be able to survive. One lady we have been teaching gets like maybe 2 or 3 hours of sleep at a time, because she has to work all the time. There's also a recent convert who asked to get sundays off and her boss laughed at her :(

we've knocked a few doors. thats good times.. my first night i made an appt, but when we went back the man wasn't home. One door we knocked i told a lady who we were and then asked if she knew anything about the mormons. she got super scared and was like oh my gosh, i've heard wierd things about the mormons, but we set her straight.

met a man named wilson who has a desire to learn more, but his wife is catholic and he is scared of what she will think.

We're teaching this super cute old man named Felix. He gets tired easily he just had 2 strokes, but he came to church yesterday (and i think last sunday too) I'm excited to teach him more.

oh on sunday i had to share my testimony in espanol. Yeah i went after an elder who is a native speaker. should've gone first :s. pero esta todo bien! and after church we had birthday cake because it was someones birthday. ( i could get used to that, i hope everyones birthday is on sunday)

Ok.. this is all i can think of. OH! i love the flowers here!  MUY BONITA!!!
