Hola Famalia y Amigos! Como estas? Estoy muy bien! This week was great.
We've knocked a few streets and meet some really interesting people. Hear some funny things too. I was telling a man how we know that we can live with our families forever and he goes "You mean i have to live with my Mother in law forever?" He wasn't too excited about this. ha ha. um... anyways... but we have knocked on some peoples doors that seem really interested and we have set up appointments with a few of them. its pretty exciting. Most doors we knock our English, and there are those few that say they dont know english. we ask if they know espanol, they say yes and then we catch them off guard with our sweet spanish skills. And I knocked a house with a lady who only knew spanish! I got really excited because FINALLY! I could contact someone in spanish! best day ever! We made an appointment with them to come back another day and teach them a lesson- these people have taken lessons from the missionaries before.
We dont have a ward mission leader in our ward at the moment so we are meeting with the bishop regularly to see how we can help out the ward- I understand most of what he was saying, it was so great!
Drove to the other side of our mission on Wednesday to Glendale to get the flu shot. The freeways are crazy, but we made it there and back all in one piece.
So we're teaching Felix. He's the coolest guy ever! he's 70 and he's great, although he doesn't remember what he read most of the time because he's recently had a few strokes, but he did remember my name the other day and we think he's improving everyday. Get this member missionary work is so important! One lady from the ward (or stake. not sure) went to Pollo loco in between sessions of saturday conference and found Felix there. He had walked there from his house and was super tired. She started up a conversation with him and took him home after, but he agreed to meet with the missionaries and he's progressing. he's been to church 3 weeks in a row.
Saturday was the hotest i think since i've been here. 90 degrees. it's hot but i love it. todays not so warm its a little cloudy and 65 but i think thats warmer than utah?
Anyways... I think my spanish is improving everyday. i had a conversation with someone at church yesterday! it was great! i also am understanding a lot more in church too. If only i knew the directions and the street locations that would be great! there are so many break off streets here its ridiculous! good thing we have a map. sometimes looking for a street is tedious and my companion tells me i need patience, but i'm working on that too.
OH! and one last thing. The people here go ALL out in their halloween decorations. You haven't seen anything until you've come here. its CRAZY!!!
