Go UTES! sounds like it was intense game!
Another week in a trio. this trio is so different from the last, but it's all good. There's never a dull moment though. And we're always laughing. yes. my abs are sore.
I am seriously so grateful that Hermana Dupuis is here, She is one of the best missionaries, she gets to know everyone so fast and they seriously love her. She has some amazing ideas that help the work progress and i can see how much she has grown as a missionary since i was with her not too long ago.
We've been working more with President Gutierrez this week, we wish we would've used him a lot sooner, but hey! we're grateful for him now and his advice and wisdom. You all know Evelyn and her family- the desire of their hearts is to be able to go to church and to be baptized. Seriously- they want nothing more, their knowledge of the gospel is probably greater than my own. They read and pray every day, but their dad is super against the church, even though his family members are basically all members. We were talking to President one night and he commented how he couldn't stop thinking of the story of Ammon- He went in to the land of ishmael wanting to declare repentance and change their hearts- he knew he couldn't just go in and start teaching, he had to get into their hearts- So what did he do? he served them! and then he taught with power and authority. So. as we were talking with President we realized we have Hermana Judd. i dont know if you know, but she's probably one of the best chefs in the world. She can make anything. pretty much. and it's always delicious! So we go talk to Evelyn and ask him what he likes? well... pizza... and 3 leches. (delicious cake). we were going to go in and make him and his family dinner before he got home and when he was walking into the house we would walk out super casual and say oh Hey! we left you something on the table. have a nice day. and be done. well... plans didn't work out they way we hoped. We got there just as Willian was calling saying he'd be home in 15 minutes. (good thing we already made the cake, just had to frost it..) so.. we decided to wait with the cake and make the pizza another day. (which will be tonight, we'll let you know how it goes.) so we waited for him to come home, while we were getting more info to see how we could help and serve him more. He has a marimba that he doesn't know how to play. and now i'm wishing my friend Sarah would've taught me before i left. (Sarah! help me out! please! (: )
Anyways.. i know before we started serving him i might've held a little grudge. I had know idea who the man was, but i didn't really want to be his friend, he wasn't letting his family get baptized, but i've noticed now that as i actually want to serve him i have found a love for him. As i've talked to his family about serving him and seen how grateful they are because they know how unhappy he and his family are, that if we serve him i know we'll be able to see a miracle or more this transfer.
Ana and her family are doing well. They still haven't come to church, which means we'll have to push their baptism back a little bit, but they really are excited, they just have to put that fear behind them. So this week, church tour! sunday. Church! soon. wedding and baptism
Speaking of, there was a wedding and a baptism in our ward this week. It was AMAZING! This little Mendoza family is so cute!
Anyways. have to go. time to go bowling :)
