HOLA!
So Saturday night rolled around... transfer calls didn't come. So Hermana Judd and I figured we were pretty content staying together another transfer. it'll be good. we are hoping to have a wedding and the baptism for Ana and her family- i'll talk about that in a sec. So yes. Sunday comes Church was good. we came home and were eating lunch, Hermana Dupuis calls, she wants to know the scoop. I told her what i thought i knew, who was going where, turns out i was wrong. Guess who's joining this companionship?! Hermana Dupuis! I'm in a trio again. with another companion i've already had. oh boy. It's going to be great! President really likes his curve balls.
Hmm... so what happened last week? We decided it would be best to give olivia to the other missionaries in the San Bernadino Mission- A member was coming with us to a lesson and pointed out where her member friends lived in the other mission in the other ward, close to Olivia's house- Seriously- no one in our ward lives around Olivia, she does live in a little farm house and there is nothing around her but cows... and farm. Yeah. did i mention. i'm serving on the farm! anyways... we passed her off and she will love her ward. we're kind of sad to lose her, but we'll find more.
Speaking of more Goldens- this guy named Abdul called us this week- his friend happened to be in our ward, and he REALLY wanted to meet with the missionaries. I said great! do you know spanish? uh... no.. dangit! So we gave his number to the english elders who happened to be in a lesson at the time and were super busy that night, So Abdul kept calling wanting to know when he could meet with the missionaries- he had been talking to his friend and reading the Book of Mormon with her, he wanted to know more! finally the Elders got in touch with him they had a lesson on sunday and from what i hear- the lesson went really well.. we'll see what happens there. There seriously are so many people prepared.
one of which is Ana- she eats up everything we teach her. We have been needing to talk about marriage, because she's not married. so we brought it up and she's like yeah! we need to get married soon! it's important. we asked- how about the 29th of september? she's said Yeah! that sounds great! and she said she was going to talk to her husband about it. We LOVE Ana!
We had a chat with President Gutierrez- a councelor in the mission presidency after church yesterday- He advised us to work more with the members. Knocking, street contacting- not effective. we've seen this here. everyone who is open to missionary visits either has a member friend or has been to the church before. at least 80% of our time needs to be with members- and as soon as they learn to love and trust us they will want to help us more- and we've seen this in the last few weeks as members are opening up to us and giving us referrals. It really doesnt matter if there's a person you have in mind who would benifit from the gospel- we must ask ourselves- what miracles need to happen for them to accept the gospel? and then pray for them specifically- specific prayers=specific blessing- TRY IT! You'll see miracles.
