HEY!! This week was AMAZING!! kind of quick because last week p day was on tuesday. yep. super quick.
last tuesday after we emailed we went with Evelia (our RC) to the cheesecake factory. YUM. we were planning on going around 2, but we ended up not going until 4:30. and we had a dinner appt at 6:30 later that night. needless to say. we were kind of full.
So. La Canada is booming. we have a good group of people to teach. We're starting to teach Paula, the woman who got baptized 2 weeks ago. we went to lunch with her this week, and She is SO Happy, she has seen how the gospel- how the gift of the holy ghost has helped her so much in the short time that she's had it.
So cool! Thursday we got a referral from the Singles ward elders for a girl named Pearl. We went to visit her and she mentioned that she is searching for the right church for her. Friday we invited her to church and a tour before. she gladly accepted- wanted to know what to wear, what her hair should look like, if she had an assigned seat. and she mentioned how she was really excited to come to church, she asked how long it was. sometimes we hesitate when we say 3 hours- it's long for people who have never come to church before, but she said she would love to stay the 3 hours. She was there early for the tour, we just talked about what was going to happen at church and what she should expect. The spirit was so there! we promised her that she would find what she was looking for. And she loved church. Members thought she was another missionary. We had to clarify that no. she was visiting and that this was her first time. Guys! She's ready! we all mentioned how we see her getting baptized really soon. She loved church and told people that she would be back again next week. We are so excited for Pearl. we're kind of bummed that we can't meet with her until thursday, but we're hoping for sooner. i'll keep you updated. no worries!
we went on exchanges this week. Sister Zamora went to Pomona and Sister Cruz came over to Tujunga. we had good times, but sister mulitalo and i realized we don't really know where we are going. actually. we did pretty good. we only really got lost once. guess we need to pay attention a little better or something, but we'll figure it out sooner or later. good thing for maps. and someone who can read them. ha ha.
This weekend was full of fundraisers for the youth. Pancake breakfast in the morning and a sweet dinner from the la canada ward, full of non members :) we met some really cool people.
Tujunga ward is doing well too. we have 2 baptismal dates- one for Dago- his family just got sealed in the temple 2 weeks ago. they wanted to wait for Dago, but decided they couldn't wait any longer, we'll be there when they go to the temple the 2nd time! we're excited!
Also we have been teaching Irma- she lost her husband a few months ago our sources have told us to go and teach the oldest son, Carlos- which we did this week. he's ready! and we're excited for his family.
Ana, Brian, and Evelia were all confirmed yesterday- so great! They have so many blessings in store for them! Also, yes Hermana Mulitalo and i spoke in church, good thing for 3 confirmations which took up some time. ha ha. but we did well. we hear. ha ha. I spoke about Obedience <-- Super important! and Mulitalo spoke about repentance. so yeah. we're glad its over.
Another random story- no coincidences- we met Jose on the street last week and he would love to go on a tour, but we've each been cancelling on each other for some reason or another, when we were on exchanges we saw him again on another street- he came up to us! (I didn't recognize him- i was super confused as to why this random man was talking to us like he knew us) and we scheduled another tour for a day this week. we're excited!
Funny story of the week, (not really, but kind of) So there's a less active mom and son we go teach once a week. they have a dog named Canelo. He's a bit naughty you could say... He took a sniff of my backpack and decided that it was a tree... :s
Thats the first thing going in the washer today.
Funny story 2. driving down the street to a potentials. we see the Jehovas witnesses walking down the same street. we decide to watch them to see where they are going to go. they go to our potentials house. we watch them, they walk away. we decide it's probably a better idea to come back later and drive away as the Jehovas witnesses are staring at us wondering what on earth we are doing.
