This week was another amazing week! i seriously love it here!
Monday night Kenny (evelia- our Recent converts husband) grilled for us. oh my heck! SO DELICIOUS! We're thinking about using him for a ward party. And little by little we are starting to teach kenny. He has a cool story. He used to drink on the weekends, but just recently he got hit with diabetes. He hasn't been hanging out with the same friends, he's stopped drinking and he's spending more time with his family. He has a ton of questions about the church and told Evelia the other day that he would probably go with her soon. :D We're excited for Kenny!
We're becoming better friends with Imelda- her husband was the one that died a few months ago and left her with 4 kids. He worked for the apartment building they lived in so they didn't have to pay rent, but now since his death they told her that she had to move out and now she only has about 2 weeks. so being the expert apartment hunters we are, we decided to spend some time looking for an apartment for Imelda and her family. The area she wants to live in she can only afford a one bedroom, but after some looking we found one! she loves it! and hopefully she'll be able to move in soon so that she can settle in and we can teach her more. But seriously she calls us whenever she has some free time and says I'm home! you can come over! and she's excited to come to church. Hopefully next week :)
Friday was so great! After some apartment hunting and some weekly planning we had Alisons baptism. wait back up a little. wednesday or thursday she was sitting in the doctors office, while she was waiting she decided to pull out her book of mormon and read the chapter we gave her the day before- Alma 32 all about faith. While she was reading this feeling of peace enveloped her and she started to cry- she told us that what she was doing she knew was right and she was ready to get baptized.
So every baptismal service has a different feeling and this one everyone who was in the room just couldn't help but smile. There was so much happiness. All of Brady's family who are all super active members were there to support her and it seriously was so great! Sunday was fast sunday because stake conference next week, Allison was confirmed and almost everyone who bore their testimony on sunday talked about the peace and happiness they felt at her baptism and the example she is to them. LOVE my ward!
Now Allison is super excited that she will soon be able to get into her lds account. she tried before she was baptized but didn't have her membership number, but now she can. ha ha.
Good week! I'm going to my first memorial day parade today. EXCITING! ha ha.
