Hola!

Hope your memorial day was amazing! they really know how to party here in La Canada. We went to the parade and it was so fun! just about every kid in pre school was in the parade. they were SUPER CUTE! and then our ward had a sweet Bbq at the bishops house. all of our investigators came! it was SO great! and Joan brought her friend who was kind of bad mouthing the church. She saw how mormons really are, outside of church, just having fun. she had a good time.

This week we had a 2 day exchange. Sister Zamora went to Hacienda Heights and Sister Johnson came here. She's leaving in 3 weeks for home. you can tell how much the mission has changed her, but we had some really good lessons. She's an english sister so we tried our best to teach her all the spanish we know. she did pretty well. if nothing else, she learned how to love mexican food. we ate plenty.

And! While Sister Johnson was with us we were able to find a few people who we had been looking for for a while. We were happy!

Sister Zamora came back and a few people decided to drop us :( but it's all good! because on Sunday we had a fabulous lesson with a neice of hno de la o in the tujunga ward, she has a ton of questions and loves learning. OH! and Stake conference was yesterday. Kenny (Evelia's husband) came! he loved it and then we had a lesson with him after- we watched the Joseph smith movie and cleared up his questions. He started asking us questions about what a convert is and then he asked us if thats what he'll be. :) He's getting in the water soon.

So. we have plenty of awkward moments here and this weekend was full of them. Saturdays especially because the Jehovas witnesses are out as well. So we went to go visit Patty, a less active, she wasn't home so we were walking down the driveway and who walks up? 3 Jehovas witnesses and go knock on her door. uh... awkward.

after we went to go visit another less active. we get out and these 2 ladies are doing yard work, they tell us that we're late because the people from our church have already been by this morning and knocked every door. uh... not us.

Then! we were walking away from Ana's house and a man pulls up to us and asks if we were going door to door? we were like uh... no, just visiting someone, he told us where he lived and that he goes to the congregation in Verdugo. I said oh! so we'll see you at stake conference tomorrow. He got super confused. ha ha, and then we were like hmm... a jehovas witness.. we explained that we were from the lds church and he realized who he was talking to and drove away. ha ha. oh man. but now we know where he lives.
