11! July 9,2012

Hola!

This week was a learning experience... I've decided i should probably study up on my christlike attributes or something. Most definitely need to work on Humility. and how the work here isn't about me and my timing. it's up to God and his timing and what really is best for the people we teach. So Kenny, Evelia's husband- he is LOVING learning, basically eating the gospel up. He's worried about tithing though, he wants to be sure he can do it. Growing up in the church i was super lucky- it's just a way of life. just pay my tithing. no big deal. but for others it's quite a change. i know the blessings that come from paying tithing, but they must act in faith to see the blessings that tithing brings. So. Yes. Kenny wants to wait a little bit longer- wants to be a bit more ready. the easy part is to say yeah, lets give it one more week. so you can feel a bit more ready and prepared. The hard part is we would have to wait a little longer. Evelia is going out of town the 18th and not coming back till the the 24th. 2 sundays! she wants to be there for his baptism, of course. so we'll probably have it on the 29th. i know he'll feel more ready to take this leap of faith and it wont be because we rushed him through the lessons. but he really is excited for this step in his life. Evelia is still shocked! she didn't think it was ever going to happen. and one day soon, it will be.

I've been learning and working on my patience with our other investigators. This stuff is hard! but i'm learning. it wont all happen in my timing, when the time is right i'll know, and they'll be ready.

I'm grateful for The Ross family- we live with them, Brother Ross is like our dad always talking to us about our frustrations and how we can become better. plus Brother and Sister Ross are seminary teachers so they can help us out with any gospel question we have. Yep. it's pretty great.

What else?? We keep teaching Andy. he's rough on the outside, but he's a softy on the inside- he has seen a change because of the gospel that we're teaching him, but we have to get him to church!

Hope your 4th of July was Fabulous! It was a little chilly at about 70 degrees. we partied it up- at the pool, um.. well. at the pool party- yeah we were in charge of snow cones. we had our other party in tujunga- we just played some games and ate as people were getting ready to watch the fireworks. and then we went back to La Canada to a ward families house to watch fireworks from the rosebowl. It was so great! but then! i got home and realized i had lost a memory card. I was SO distraught! I wasn't even sure if i had lost it that night or earlier in the week. no idea! i had a hard time sleeping. ha ha, but God was watching out for me that night. I talked to the family whos house we were at and they actually found it in the grass. they were worried that the sprinklers had gotten it, but luckily for me the sprinklers didn't go on that night. and apparently their grass trapped in a bunch of random other stuff including Hermana Mulitalo's earring that luckily enough they also found. We're lucky!
