Hola! Como estan?
End of week 1. I was SO tired this week! i took every opportunity i could to catch a nap. I may or may not have had a hard time keeping my eyes open during a lesson or 2 and during companionship study. life not in a trio. the beginning of the week was kind of wierd. it was like we were missing a member of our family, but it's all good, we've getting used to just the usual 2. The theme of this week: on the move. seems like everyones moving. Imelda our investigator finally got all moved into her apartment. Finally. we are moving out of our pool house today.. :( Everything belongs to the mission office, even the washer and dryer in the basement. We had NO idea! ha ha.
This week Hermana Mulitalo and i also spent some time with President. He came to a lesson with us to one of our less actives from La Canada. He helped him and us a ton figure out the next step to help him get back to church and on the right track. WE LOVE President Becerra. He is deinitely called here from a prophet. He loves missionary work and is trying to help us become the best missionaries and people we can become. He also came to ward council on Sunday. to help us figure out ways the members can help us in finding, and how we can find more. Randon cool thing we are trying now is when we knock on doors instead of asking to share a message we tell them that we know how hard life can be with all the difficulties there are in the world and all the financial and other difficulties we have, could we offer a blessing in your home, to bless you and your family. because you know... as representatives of Jesus Christ we can do that.
So we were walking down the street the other day and we met this cool 19 year old guy. no joke his name is Elder Garcia. We just had an Elder Garcia in our district but he got transferred. we found a quick replacement. but for reals. he's so cool! he's from Guatamala and has only been here for 3 years. He actually came to ward soccer on Saturday. think he loved it, we'll hopefully talk to him more this week. also we went looking for former investigators. we found Andy- his mom had taken missionary lessons- and i think he had too, he has a really cool story, he's had kind of a hard life, but he knows its for a reason. we have a lesson with him this week- we'll see how it goes. :) while we were standing outside talking to him he gave us like 3 referrals- go see this person, they definitely need Jesus in their life. ha ha. also! missionary recent convert Lolita. has also been giving us a ton of referrals this week too. we're trying to keep up with her.
and surprise! Remember Joan? she was supposed to get baptized on saturday- her birthday, but after memorial day she didn't return our calls, we didn't see or hear from her, and Sister Reynolds her friend told us to put a pause on Joan. Well.. Joan called Friday night. she had had a misunderstanding, but she really wants to get baptized! She has seen the change in her and wants to be the best she can be. So we're going to start working with Joan again. :)
hmm... what else? Oh! we had another Lesson with Daniel Wyatt. he's the friend of the member in LC who just left for BYU. he still comes to church even without her. we had a lesson with him again yesterday. You can see the desire he has to keep learning and progressing, he just has to talk to his dad. hopefully his dad will be ok with it and will allow him to get baptized. i'll keep you updated.
Guess what?! this week LC ward is starting ward missionary swim parties... we'll see how this goes.
